Face Lifting Procedures

What changes will occur on your face with a Face Lift surgery?

With face lift surgeries; Nasolabial folds (smile lines), marionette (puppet) lines and the prominence of sagging, loose skin and fatty tissue in the lower parts of the cheeks, known as bulldogs, are treated as a result of the sagging, loose skin and fatty tissue of the facial area between the edge of the eye and the lower border of the nose, which we call the middle face. As a result of the absence or loss of the jawline, this area is highlighted. It is also aimed to eliminate sagging, loose skin on the neck and vertically located bands of the platysma muscle. Depending on the degree of sagging, wrinkles and excess fat on the face, it is decided which of the following face lift surgeries will be performed as a result of the examination of the person.

MidFace Lifting

The middle face constitutes the horizontal imaginary 1/3 of the face, between the edges of the eyes and the planes passing through the lower border of the nose. The cheekbones, which participate in the formation of the midface, are generally the most protruding points on the sides of the face, just like the midface when viewed from the front. For example, this problem in the cheekbone is largely effective in sagging cheeks, more prominent nasolabial folds, or lower eye bags becoming evident at a young age. In addition, in this mid-face region, which is the most mobile and sensitive to gravity in terms of facial muscles, over the years, folds and sagging develop as a result of loosening of the connective tissue-derived retaining and suspension systems due to aging, as well as the melting of the fat pads and their displacement forward and downward. Bringing these tissues back to their old places and fixing them in these new places with a number of permanent techniques is possible with mid-face lift surgeries. These surgeries can be performed endoscopically, with incisions made through the scalp in the temple area, or they can be performed with incisions made under the lower eyelid eyelashes (Transpalpebral). With both techniques, the sagging tissues in the mid-face area are fixed to their original places in an upward direction using various suture techniques. The incisions are then closed with aesthetically dissolvable stitches. After these operations, which last approximately 2-3 hours in a hospital environment, under sedation or general anesthesia, a 1-night hospital stay is required. To prevent swelling, it is recommended to apply ice intermittently and lie down with your head up. It is also recommended to apply a corset for 15 days to support the face. You can use oral painkillers for uncomfortable pain. Most patients return to their normal daily activities within 7 days.

Classical Face Lifting

Classic face lift surgeries are performed for facial deformations that show more pronounced aging characteristics. In this procedure, the incision is made along the sideburns of the hair, in front of the ears and around the earlobe, extending to the back of the ear. These incisions become inconspicuous scars when fully healed. This incision type was developed to address aesthetic concerns. After the incision is made in the skin, the skin in a wide area extending from the face to the nasolabial folds in front and to the neck below is carefully lifted from the underlying tissues to the same thickness. It is a surgical technique performed according to the principle of fixing the sagging deep tissues on the face with stitches to their new places in the direction of the upward-outward vectors of the face, using a number of techniques, along the line corresponding to the corner of the cheekbone and lower jawbone. Thus, a more dynamic and youthful appearance is provided on the patient's face. The excess skin, which occurs as a result of the upward stretching of the deep tissues, is cut carefully from the edges, and the incision areas are stitched with great care and aesthetics. This procedure gives your face a more youthful appearance.

Deep Plane Face Lifting

Deep plane facelift is a different technique compared to classical facelift surgery. Here; After making a skin incision as in the classical face lift, the deep tissue planes are reached with a deep plane incision made using appropriate intervals and spaces between the cheekbone and the area that fits the corner of the lower jawbone. Thus, the sagging tissues are lifted from the deep plane in the direction of upward-outward vectors and placed in their new places with stitches. It is a surgical technique based on the principle of fixation. The next stages take place as in the classic face lift.

Short scar facelifting (Mini face lifting)

A mini facelift (also known as a short scar facelift) is performed on people with limited signs of aging on the face, predominantly along the jawline. This procedure involves shorter incisions and is suitable for those with less excess neck skin and jowls. The incisions are shorter because there is less need to trim and reposition deeper tissues. The majority of patients who choose to have this procedure are between the ages of 45-55 and have a faster recovery process.
